See the Lights Without Driving

Every December, neighborhoods across Dallas–Fort Worth light up, and thousands of families pile into cars to see them. The driver spends the night watching brake lights instead of Christmas lights, and the passengers are crammed into the back seat. A chauffeured lights tour fixes both: everyone gets a window, someone else handles the slow crawl down crowded streets, and the evening can include dinner, hot chocolate or a stop at a holiday market. Call or text (682) 276-6812 to plan yours.

How a lights tour works:
⏱️ Book by the hour; most tours run two to four hours
🗺️ Pick one area or combine two that are close together
🚐 Choose a vehicle with big windows and room for everyone
📅 December weekends book up first; weeknights are easier

Where to Go

These are some of the best-known free holiday light areas in the Metroplex. Displays, dates and visitor rules change from year to year and are set by each city or neighborhood, so check the current details before your night. We'll plan the route around them.

Grapevine

Grapevine bills itself as the Christmas Capital of Texas, and Historic Main Street goes all out for the season. It's an easy pairing with dinner downtown, and it's minutes from DFW Airport for visiting family. See our Grapevine black car service.

Interlochen, Arlington

The Interlochen neighborhood in northwest Arlington has put on its holiday lights for about five decades, and it regularly lands on lists of the best light displays in the country. Expect slow traffic on peak nights. The lights typically stay up through Christmas. More on our Arlington black car service.

Deerfield, Plano

Deerfield in northwest Plano is one of the most popular light displays in Collin County, with streets of decorated homes. It pairs well with dinner at Legacy West. See our Plano black car service.

Highland Park and the Park Cities

Some of the most elaborate displays in Dallas are on the streets of Highland Park and University Park. Nearby Preston Hollow has also drawn huge crowds, and residents there have recently limited holiday visitors, so check the current rules before adding it to your route.

Ticketed Light Displays and What They Charge

Beyond the neighborhoods, the Metroplex has several ticketed light shows. Most of the drive-thru displays charge per vehicle, and many charge more for a limo, van or bus than for a car. These are the prices each display publishes on its own website. Some had not posted 2026 prices yet, so where noted, the price is from the 2025 season. Always confirm on the display's site before you go.

Admission is not included in your EMT Limo fare. Your fare covers the vehicle and your chauffeur. You buy the display's ticket yourself, for the type of vehicle you're riding in, and bring it with you. Tell us which displays you plan to visit and we'll tell you which vehicle category to buy.

Pick the Right Vehicle

For a lights tour, windows matter as much as seats. Residential streets are narrow and busy in December, and some neighborhoods may limit large vehicles, so smaller is often better. We'll check your route and recommend a vehicle that can get through it comfortably.

GroupVehicleWhy it works
Up to 6 GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Suburban Easy through narrow streets; great for a family
Up to 10 Lincoln stretch limousine A classic holiday night out for couples and friends
Up to 14 Executive Sprinter or limo Sprinter Stand-up headroom and big windows for extended family
Up to 18 2024 Cadillac Escalade limousine A larger group that wants a festive ride

Planning Tips

  • Go on a weeknight if you can. Weekend nights close to Christmas are the most crowded on the streets and the hardest to book.
  • Start after dark, and not too late. Some homes switch their lights off in the late evening.
  • Pick one or two areas. Trying to see the whole Metroplex in one night means more time on the highway than on the light streets.
  • Make it a full evening. Add dinner before or dessert after, and keep the same car for the whole night.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a Christmas lights tour be?

Two to four hours covers one or two areas comfortably. Add time if you're including dinner.

How is a lights tour priced?

Lights tours are booked by the hour. You'll see your price before you book, and it doesn't surge on busy December nights.

Are display tickets included in the fare?

No. Admission to Prairie Lights, Gift of Lights, The Light Park and other ticketed displays is not included in your EMT Limo fare. Buy the ticket for the vehicle type you're riding in (for example, the limo or bus rate) directly from the display.

Which ticket do we buy for a limo or bus?

Buy the category that matches your vehicle. At Prairie Lights, a limo or a van or bus for 9 to 30 people uses the shuttle van/bus ticket, and a bus for 31 or more uses the commercial bus ticket. At Gift of Lights, buses, limos and RVs share one rate. We'll tell you which one applies when you book.

Can we stop and walk around?

Yes. With hourly service, your chauffeur waits while you walk a street or stop for dinner, then picks you back up.

Which neighborhoods can you include?

Any area in Dallas–Fort Worth that's open to visitors. Tell us where you'd like to go, and we'll plan the route around current visitor rules and traffic.
